Meet Our Team

Kathryn Kolonic, DO, MBA, MPH, CPHQ

President, Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Kolonic is a distinguished physician executive with extensive expertise in quality management, clinical leadership, and operational efficiency. As President and Chief Medical Officer of ExamWorks UM Strategies, she spearheads multidisciplinary teams to enhance healthcare outcomes while driving organizational growth. Board-certified in Family Medicine and Obesity Medicine, Dr. Kolonic has a proven history of advancing innovation, cultural competency, and evidence-based practices across diverse healthcare environments.

Prior to her current role, Dr. Kolonic served as Vice President and Medical Director at AllMed Healthcare Management and as Chief Medical Officer for AgeRight Clinical Services, where she also held the position of Medical Director for the AgeRight Medicare Advantage plan. Passionate about improving healthcare quality and optimizing service utilization, she is dedicated to ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care.

Dr. Kolonic holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of San Diego, a Master of Public Health from Portland State University, a Doctor of Osteopathy from Touro University Nevada, and an Executive Master of Business Administration from Emory University.

Jeff Card

Chief Operating Officer

Jeff joins ExamWorks UM Strategies with a track record of applying business analytics and Lean production techniques in a variety of industries. He takes a data-driven approach in leading teams through operational improvements to deliver innovative process and technology solutions.

His experience spans health care, financial services, and automotive operations, including service as the General Manager at AllMed Healthcare Management and Director of Clinical Review Operations at Premera Blue Cross.

Jeff earned a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from the University of Detroit Mercy and is a former commissioner of NAGAAA, the sanctioning body for the annual Gay Softball World Series.

Rebecca Lech, DO

Associate Medical Director

Dr. Lech is a board-certified family medicine physician with specialized training in caring for adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Her journey in healthcare began after earning a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Political Science from Santa Clara University. She then gained hands-on experience as an EMT before pursuing her medical degree at Western University of Health Sciences – College of Osteopathic Medicine in Pomona, CA.

Following medical school, Dr. Lech completed her residency in family medicine at Kaiser Permanente – Orange County, CA. She then joined an independent physician association (IPA), where she practiced family medicine and gained experience in utilization management (UM) by reviewing prior authorizations for a local medical group. This exposure sparked her interest in UM, leading her to take on a role as a contract physician reviewer with AllMed Healthcare Management. In 2023, she transitioned to her full-time position as an Associate Medical Director at ExamWorks UM Strategies, where she enjoys the dynamic and multifaceted aspects of UM, working with a diverse range of clients and projects.

Beyond her medical career, Dr Lech is a passionate advocate for individuals with developmental disabilities. She serves on the Orange County Regional Advisory Committee for the State Council of Developmental Disabilities, championing the civil, legal, and service rights of Californians with developmental disabilities.

In her free time, she enjoys reading non-fiction, strength training, hiking, and cherishing time with her family.

Matthew Hersey

Senior Vice President, Strategic Growth

Matthew brings over 20 years of healthcare sales experience to ExamWorks UM Strategies. Known for his strategic vision and leadership, Matthew has a proven track record of driving growth, cultivating strategic partnerships, and building high-performing sales teams in the healthcare industry.

At ExamWorks UM Strategies, Matthew oversees the go-to-market strategy, ensuring seamless alignment between sales initiatives and market demands. He also leads partnership growth efforts, fostering collaborations that enhance the company’s offerings and client relations.

A proud graduate of Grand Valley State College, Matthew has a deep-rooted love for all things Detroit and Michigan Wolverine sports. Outside of work, he enjoys coaching youth football and basketball, spending time in nature, and cherishing moments with his wife and two children.

Caitlin Rousseau

Operations Manager

Caitlin is a seasoned healthcare operations professional with a strong background in clinical management and business strategy. She currently serves as an Operations Manager at ExamWorks UM Strategies, where she oversees key operational functions, drives efficiency, and ensures high-quality service delivery.

Prior to this role, Caitlin spent 10 years at AllMed Healthcare Management, where she started as a Clinician Assistant and advanced to Clinical Operations Supervisor through her dedication and leadership in optimizing workflows and team performance.

Caitlin began her career as a radiologic technologist and worked as a promotional staffer for a marketing group, gaining valuable experience in both healthcare and customer engagement. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Radiologic Science with a minor in Business from the Oregon Institute of Technology. With a unique blend of clinical expertise, operational leadership, and business acumen, Caitlin continues to make a meaningful impact in healthcare operations.

Nicole Bueno-Chavez

Implementation Specialist

Nicole bringing 14 years of experience in clinical management to ExamWorks UM Strategies in her role as Implementation Specialist. With a strong foundation in client services and medical records management, Nicole has developed a diverse skill set that spans client services, medical records management, digital communication, and international business.

Her extensive experience in strategic oversight and hands-on execution allows her to seamlessly integrate innovative solutions that enhance client experiences. Passionate about multitasking and content creation, Nicole thrives in fast-paced environments where she can drive efficiency and engagement.

Nicole holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in International Business and a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Communication and Media from Florida Atlantic University. She is committed to embodying the values and culture of ExamWorks UM Strategies while bringing fresh perspectives and dynamic solutions to support collective goals.
